Adam’s Recommended Books in 2016

Best books I read in 2016.  I highly recommended them.  Some are briefs below:

-“The More of Less” book talks about owning less, decluttering your excessive things, giving yourself so much freedom and pursuing your dream path.

-“Glow Kids” book is a very fascinating book.  As you wonder about kids nonstop staring at glowing screens in restaurants, in playgrounds and in friends’ houses, even though at dinner table.  Then that’s the book you should read.

-“The Second Machine Age” book written by two MIT professors talks about issues of technological and economic progress how we are along with Artifical Intelligence revolution and wiping out millions of blue-collar jobs for people.  We must be optimistic about the future and how we face that.

-“Endurance: Shackleton’s Incredible Voyage” book is one of great adventure stories of our time. It is about the expedition team surived in another world of cold, wet, icy and filled with fear, exhaustion and hunger.  I think every great business leaders must read this book.  Ernest Shackleton the explorer made many perfect moves to rescue his full team at the end.  Nobody died.  That is amazing.

-“SevenEves” is a brillant scientific fiction book.  Well I would say it is close enough to real, not just an ordinarily scientific fiction like Star Wars, etc.  The story itself is about a catastrophic event on earth and nations around the globe work together to make a plan to ensure the survival of humanity far beyond our atmosphere.  And there is also an unexpected story at the end.

-“The Future of The Mind” book talks about our latest and current research on the human brain being done in top laboratories around the world all in neuroscience and physics.

Happy New Year 2017!!!

Jackie and Adam were planning to go out with friends for New Year Eve.  However we decided to spend time with Jackie’s family before they leave to NC on Jan 2nd.     We went out to Nello’s restaurant ordering two large pizzas – Classic Europe and BBQ chicken.  It was a fun evening!

Thanks go to Jackie’s brother for blocking Evie in the family picture above.  So we took another one with Evie.

After the restaurant, we came back home for social and we played with Evie. Then Adam was serious playing the “Uncharted 4” game on PS4 that Jackie’s brother got it for Christmas present.

Vanilla was very jealous of Evie.  He tried to be cutier than Evie.  She got all attentions on the social media, Facebook, for Happy New Year message.

We had such a fun and Happy New Year to everyone!!!

Oktober tried to steal treats for himself

Oktober tried to steal the treat bag from us.  We busted him.  Then he tried to run away.  At first he sneaked and sit on the kitchen island for a while.  He thought we didn’t pay attention him whereas we caught him!

After I took treat the bag from him, he was not very happy about that and stared at us silently.

Our first date night

December 27th

Our first date night as parents.

We went out for dinner and watched Rogue 1 at the movie theater.  It was lovely time to be able to enjoy my husband to myself. ❤️💕

Evie was having blast time with her grandparents.  They will be leaving in few days so it was nice for them to spend time together.

Visiting Christmas town in Arizona

December 26th – visiting Prescott, Arizona

We decided to do a day trip with Evie and her grandparents and uncle Justin to see some snow for Christmas!

I have learned that northern Arizona was having a white Christmas while we got a wet Christmas in Phoenix.

Adam and I decided that would be great idea to visit Prescott since it’s closer and beautiful during Christmas. They have wonderful Christmas lights setting up in the town.

Actually it was a best decision that we have made. We had a lovely time! We walked on the snow, dined at raven cafe, tasted mead wine in the basement and enjoyed our coffee in the cold snowy day!  We saw Christmas lights lit in the evening before we departed!  It was a good day with Evie.  She did really well with her crazy parents!  Preparing her for more craziness and excitements upcoming adventures in the future!

Every year- Arizonan decorated this tree in the middle of highway roads. Loving the spirit!

Christmas Day

Christmas Morning!!!

I  got up in the early morning and made a big breakfast – French Toast with baked bacon for my amazing wife and daughter. Yes I am very talented in making breakfast..   Jackie and Evie were still sleeping while I was preparing the breakfast.  I knew Jackie was exhausted from getting up few times with Evie during night. After they got up, we ate breakfast together.
Look at the photo! My typical morning wild hair! Evie wore a cute outfit for Christmas!

Christmas Socks/gifts  for Evie, Vanilla and Oktober from their lovely parent.

Opening Christmas presents

Grandparents and Justin joined after our time together in the morning.

A great gift ever for Vanilla

Our two couple neighbor who know ASL stopped by our house and said Merry Christmas to us.  They gave us Christmas brittle parline (yummy!) and also offered to take Vanilla out to their house to meet his best friend for play date.  They have a golden retriever dog named Chief.  Vanilla had such a fun playing with Chief at their house.  They sent us the picture of them.  We think that was Vanilla’s best Christmas present ever.  They jumped in the pool few times! Yikes!

Christmas Day Evening

Cathy Jackie’s mom made brown sugar Ham with mashed potato and green bean casserole.  We drank and socialized for the whole evening. I was napping all afternoon!  Nice break!

New gift for Jackie – Telescope

Jackie was so serious about finding some planets and stars out in the space with her new telescope.  She didnt find anything yet.  (Venus or mars were visible) (image was blurry due to bad visible in the atmosphere). Too bad!  Jackie needs to learn how to adjust her new telescope.  Waiting for moon to come out then it will be easy to practice with her new telescope.

Steve (father in law) and I made a fireplace outside by the pool.  The outside was a bit cold at night with really dry air.

Evie’s new play area.  Really helpful with dog around.

More pics from Christmas Day for u to enjoy.

Thanks Carly and James (her aunt and uncle)

Our first Christmas Eve with Evelyn.

Adam and I were very excited to have Evie for our Christmas. It’s her very first Christmas! Today was very special time for all of us.

Vanilla and Evie

Vanilla and Evie’s first photo together! Vanilla was having hard time to control his excitement and he wanted to cuddle and kiss her all over!! 🙂

A nice moment with my hubby

New excited grandparent watched our Evie while Adam and I could go out and have some little fun today. We went to Trader Joe’s and got us delicious winter drinks at pomegranate cafe. His drink costs 7 dollars and mine was 6 dollars! One of most expensive coffee drinks we ever had!  AH but it’s Christmas!  (I got gingerbread latte) What a cute mini cookie I got!

Evie and her uncle

My brother, Justin started to warm up with Evie. He likes to poke her and holds her hand. I have been wanting to take a picture of him with Evie!  Finally, there is a moment that I could take a picture of them both!  What a precious moment! ❤️

Mommy and Evie

Love watching her sleep!  I love having her sleeping in my arms.  It’s a best feeling in the whole world.

Christmas craft with my family

Adam and I went to cafe today and saw cute wood slice ornaments and they cost 14 dollars a each.  Ouch!

We were like,” oh! Why don’t we make them at home! Because I found lots of wood sticks from our next door.

So Adam sawed them into pieces. We did some fun this evening.  We created our very own wood ornaments.  Adam did the fox one. I painted penguin and 2016. My dad and mom did theirs too! They are not completed yet! We need to be able to hang them on the Christmas tree!

Oh deer! Other Christmas outfit for Evie

My aunt, Crystal made her this outfit.  Looks great on her!

Introducing Pacifier to Evie

Apparently Evie really likes pacifier!
