On Way to Capetown, South Africa!

Jackie and Adam had arranged this travel for more than one year even tough before Evie was born.  Intel gave Adam two months off for the bonding time with Evie.  This is a part of parent benefits offered from Intel.  Thanks for that.  Yes Adam has paid off for his hard work at Intel!

Our neighbor, a great friend of us, (in top and right picture) dropped us off at the international PHX airport.

Jackie made cool t-shirts with logo of Africa country with a little heart at the bottom and left of the Africa map.  That is where Capetown is.

A very first self picture of the Munder family above.  We were somewhere in air between Phoenix and Chicago for the flight overlay.  It was a tough travel for us because Evie was so energetic!  Adam and I kept her busy all the time.

Lochiel Brewery!

Ian Camerson started up his own brewery distributor. He is a Deaf guy   His father worked at Intel and in the same department where I am in and he worked at night shift.  Before I visited his new opening place.  I tried all of his brewery beers in his home garage.  One of his brewed beers is my favorite now – Lochiel Scotch Ale.  At first I was worried if his brewed beer wouldn’t taste good.  I was surprised after a great taste.  That brew is made with a Scottish style and strong malt straightness.  I learned that he got a family recipe passed down through many generations in his family line.  I was fascinated in his tale and family history happened in Scotland and UK.  It was awesome!

Adam’s Recommended Books in 2016

Best books I read in 2016.  I highly recommended them.  Some are briefs below:

-“The More of Less” book talks about owning less, decluttering your excessive things, giving yourself so much freedom and pursuing your dream path.

-“Glow Kids” book is a very fascinating book.  As you wonder about kids nonstop staring at glowing screens in restaurants, in playgrounds and in friends’ houses, even though at dinner table.  Then that’s the book you should read.

-“The Second Machine Age” book written by two MIT professors talks about issues of technological and economic progress how we are along with Artifical Intelligence revolution and wiping out millions of blue-collar jobs for people.  We must be optimistic about the future and how we face that.

-“Endurance: Shackleton’s Incredible Voyage” book is one of great adventure stories of our time. It is about the expedition team surived in another world of cold, wet, icy and filled with fear, exhaustion and hunger.  I think every great business leaders must read this book.  Ernest Shackleton the explorer made many perfect moves to rescue his full team at the end.  Nobody died.  That is amazing.

-“SevenEves” is a brillant scientific fiction book.  Well I would say it is close enough to real, not just an ordinarily scientific fiction like Star Wars, etc.  The story itself is about a catastrophic event on earth and nations around the globe work together to make a plan to ensure the survival of humanity far beyond our atmosphere.  And there is also an unexpected story at the end.

-“The Future of The Mind” book talks about our latest and current research on the human brain being done in top laboratories around the world all in neuroscience and physics.

Happy New Year 2017!!!

Jackie and Adam were planning to go out with friends for New Year Eve.  However we decided to spend time with Jackie’s family before they leave to NC on Jan 2nd.     We went out to Nello’s restaurant ordering two large pizzas – Classic Europe and BBQ chicken.  It was a fun evening!

Thanks go to Jackie’s brother for blocking Evie in the family picture above.  So we took another one with Evie.

After the restaurant, we came back home for social and we played with Evie. Then Adam was serious playing the “Uncharted 4” game on PS4 that Jackie’s brother got it for Christmas present.

Vanilla was very jealous of Evie.  He tried to be cutier than Evie.  She got all attentions on the social media, Facebook, for Happy New Year message.

We had such a fun and Happy New Year to everyone!!!

Oktober tried to steal treats for himself

Oktober tried to steal the treat bag from us.  We busted him.  Then he tried to run away.  At first he sneaked and sit on the kitchen island for a while.  He thought we didn’t pay attention him whereas we caught him!

After I took treat the bag from him, he was not very happy about that and stared at us silently.

Our first date night

December 27th

Our first date night as parents.

We went out for dinner and watched Rogue 1 at the movie theater.  It was lovely time to be able to enjoy my husband to myself. ❤️💕

Evie was having blast time with her grandparents.  They will be leaving in few days so it was nice for them to spend time together.
